Member John Fischer, an apprentice perfumer, is launching a monthly meet-up to explore and smell the different fragrance materials that make up our contemporary scent landscape.
Together we'll sniff our way through samples of natural and man-made olfactory materials--fruits, florals, citrusses, resins, woods, and everything in between--to discover how they inform the sensory backdrop of our daily lives, and shape our memories of time, season, people, and place. Think of it like a book club, but for fragrances.
Sample materials and scent strips will be provided; participants are encouraged to bring a notebook to capture their thoughts and impressions.
